Beta Club

The Jr. Beta Club is a service organization for the school and community. There are a few things that we do every year and some things just whenever the need arises. Some of our annual projects are: Teacher appreciation luncheons. We have a holiday food drive for the community. We buy Christmas presents for the community. We help some of the area families if some catastrophe might happen (deaths, fire, etc). We might help buy some student's eyeglasses. We go to the nursing home in Cleveland and take all residents an ornament at Christmas time and sing carols to them. We might help with individual students that might not have the money for a ticket or whatever to a school sponsored trip. We always try to get together for all of the employees at TMS a little goody bag at Christmas time. For more information, contact Mrs. Hart

Student Council

Student Council is a group made up of elected officers and class representatives. The main purpose of Student Council is to promote school spirit and perform community activities. For instance, Student Council helps the cheerleaders with spirit days during football season. We also organize the activities for Red Ribbon Week and head up the holiday food drive. Each year the officers attend the State Student Council Conference in Austin where students get new ideas and share with other schools from across the state. Student Council is more than just a group. We strive to make a difference in our school and community. For more information, contact Ms. Killgore---akillgore@tarkington.isd.esc4.net.
