He took over his father's newspaper, the San Francisco Examiner, which continues to be published in California today. He had an amazing house, better known as the Hearst castle, located near San Simeon, California. He originally came to this area in a camping tent. However, as he grew older, he decided he needed something a little more elegant. At more than 90,000 acres, the Hearst castle almost definitely fit the bill. His grandson, William Randolph Hearst, was, as of March 11, 2009, the 430th richest man on Earth.
